Tektronix, Keithley Named Finalists for EDN's Best-in-Test 2014 Awards

Finalists Selected by EDN Editors; Online Voting to Select Winners Continues through December 31

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced that four Tektronix test and measurement instruments and one from Keithley, a Tektronix company, introduced over the past year have been named finalists for EDN's Best-in-Test 2014 Awards.

The finalists in this prestigious awards competition were determined by a panel of EDN editors who identified up to six noteworthy new products in each of 10 categories. Through the end of December, members of the EDN electronics engineering community can vote online for their favorite test product in each category. EDN will formally announce the winners on Jan. 28 during the DesignCon 2014 conference in Santa Clara, Calif.

"Over the years, Tektronix has consistently been well represented in the Best-in-Test Awards and we value the recognition," said Amir Aghdaei, President, Tektronix; Danaher Group Executive. "More than anything, our success is a reflection of our long-term commitment to innovation in developing solutions that meet customers' requirements."

Tektronix products named as finalists include:

AWG70000 Series Arbitrary Waveform Generator -- With data rates and signal complexity on the rise, engineers need faster more capable signal sources. The new AWG70000 Series, a finalist in the RF/Microwave Test category, meets this need with an industry-leading combination of 50GS/s sample rate performance, 16GS of waveform memory and 10-bit vertical resolution.

RSA5000 Series Real-time Spectrum Analyzer -- The growth of digital RF has led to the need for signal analyzers that capture the briefest of spectrum occurrences. Also nominated in the RF/Microwave Test category, the new 26.5 GHz and 15 GHz RSA5000 Series Real-time Spectrum Analyzers offers a balance of high-end performance and mid-range pricing. The use of an innovative DPX spectrum display offers an intuitive live color view of signal transients changing over time in the frequency domain

MSO/DPO70000DX Series Performance Oscilloscopes - A finalist in the Signal Integrity/High Speed category, the new MSO/DPO70000DX Series offers 23, 25 & 33GHz models that enable complete system visibility of high speed serial bus system designs. Both the MSO and DPO models feature a dynamic range of 600mV/div (6V full scale) at maximum voltage setting. Record length is now four times as long at 1Gsamples/channel on two channels. Higher processor speeds enable faster decode on longer records. In addition, the instruments support a more than 300,000 wfms/s acquisition rate.

PA4000 Power Analyzer - With energy efficiency and new power sources taking center stage in electronics design, engineers need newer and more advanced tools for testing a wide range of power-electronics devices. A finalist in the Test Support category, the new PA4000 Power Analyzer incorporates patent-pending Spiral Shunt™ technology to deliver consistently accurate measurements, even with challenging power waveforms.

The following Keithley Instruments product was named a finalist, also in the Test Support category:

2450 SourceMeter® Source Measure Unit (SMU) - Keithley's Model 2450 SMU is an all-in-one instrument with a capacitive touchscreen graphical user interface (GUI) that enhances ease of use and measurement performance. It provides intuitive operation that minimizes the learning curve and enables faster setup to test results (speed to answer) as well as precision, accuracy, low level measurement capability, and versatility. The Model 2450 enables users to Touch, Test, Invent™ by learning faster, working smarter, and inventing easier.
