WirelessHART Technology Seminars Attract Industry Users in U.S. and Europe

HART Communication Foundation seminar series provides information on how to plan, implement and use new technology

(Austin TX USA - 7 July 2009) - Industry users are responding in overwhelming numbers to a series of educational seminars on WirelessHART(TM) technology being offered by the HART® Communication Foundation (www.hartcomm.org). Seminars were presented in June in the U.K., Belgium, and Texas, with users from all process industries filling the seats to capacity. Additional dates and locations are scheduled throughout 2009, starting August 5 in Philadelphia. Users can register now at wirelesshart.hartcomm.org.

"The success of these seminars is a direct reflection of the demand by users worldwide to know more about this powerful new wireless technology, its benefits and its applications," says Ed Ladd, HART Communication Foundation Director of Technology Programs. "The seminars show how to plan, implement and use WirelessHART to lower operating costs, reduce downtime and move from a costly scheduled maintenance strategy to a more cost-effective predictive maintenance strategy."

The initial series of seminars, Using WirelessHART Technology in Process Industries, are sponsored by ABB, Emerson Process Management, Endress+Hauser, Pepperl+Fuchs and Siemens. The seminars include an overview of WirelessHART technology, what WirelessHART can do for you, how to use the technology in the plant environment, how to plan a successful wireless project and live WirelessHART demonstrations.

"These seminars are recommended for anyone interested in using WirelessHART in their machines, process applications, or industrial facilities," says Ladd. "This includes engineering contractors who are designing applications, plants and facility upgrades, and engineering and shop floor staff who need to gain experience and exchange information about maintenance, asset management, advanced diagnostics, and commissioning tools."
