ST. LOUIS - TechGuard Security®, a provider of proven technologies and services that protect critical networks from cyber attack, today announced that its Common Criteria certified PoliWall® Network Security Appliance is fully compliant for Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). In alignment with World IPv6 Day and President Barack Obama's recent directive that all U.S. government agencies upgrade their IT infrastructures in support of IPv6, TechGuard is ready to help customers meet government mandate and position for new growth with IPv6-ready cyber security solutions.
The PoliWall appliance was researched and developed in part with assistance from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Advanced Technology Program (ATP), the US Army, and the GSA 8a STARS program. It is a network security appliance that rapidly determines the country of origin (category) for all incoming packets using HIPPIE® (High-speed Internet Protocol Packet Inspection Engine) technology. Packets are filtered according to customer-defined policies, proprietary Pre-Compiled Exception Lists (PCEL®s) and unique exceptions that are bound to rule groups for specific network addresses and protocols.
