Taylor Dynamometer Hosts Engineering Students from Morse-Marshall Milwaukee Public School

Milwaukee, WI  – Around 30 students from Morse-Marshall, School For The Gifted and Talented, visited Taylor Dynamometer on Friday, May 30th. All students, consisting of sophomores, juniors and seniors, are enrolled in engineering classes at Morse-Marshall and are part of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program. The STEM Program was designed to show students the many different careers that are offered in the engineering field.

During the visit, Taylor provided the students with: a company overview presentation, answered questions and provided a tour of the facility including Taylor’s Control Room and Test Cells areas. After the tour, the students worked on a critical thinking problem and gathered insightful information from Taylor’s engineering staff on their educational paths from high school to college.

“This is our second year hosting the student’s visit and our goal is to stress that with a bit of work and time, the students can transition into an engineering (or other similar) career and be able to do what they enjoy,” said Karl Bachhuber-Beam, Project Engineer, Taylor Dynamometer. “More importantly, this program tries to emphasize the importance of education after high school, specifically 2 and 4 year college programs and Taylor is proud to be part of the program and overall experience.”

The program is organized through Menomonee Valley Partners, Inc. a nonprofit organization with a mission to revitalize the Menomonee Valley for the benefit of the entire Milwaukee community.
