Tantec A/S Teams up with Dyne Technologies Ltd.

Dyne Technologies Ltd has signed an exclusive agreement with Danish company Tantec A/S to represent it in the UK market. Tantec are leading manufacturers of treatment systems to the plastics and rubber industries offering Corona and Plasma Treatment Systems, Leak Detection Systems and Surface Analysis Equipment for a wide range of industries including Medical, and Automotive.

Chris Lines, Managing Director of Dyne Technologies Ltd said "Adding the Tantec range to Dyne Technologies's already impressive portfolio of manual, automated and robotic treatment and coating and painting systems for plastic parts will further enhance Dyne Technologies's capability to provide a complete finishing service to the plastics and rubber industries.

The purpose of surface treatment of polymer-based materials is to increase surface wettability through electrical discharge. The low surface energy of polymer-based substrates often leads to poor adhesion of inks, glues and coatings. To obtain optimum adhesion, it is necessary to increase the surface energy of the substrate to just above that of the material to be applied. Surface Treatment with Corona results in good wetting of the material over the surface of the substrate and so improves adhesion. For cleaning and activation of more complex surfaces Plasma treatment can be an economic solution.
