Strategic Relationship to Facilitate Automatic Detection and Protection of Sensitive Enterprise Content
SAN MATEO, Calif. and OTTAWA, July 23 -- Tablus, a leading provider of content loss prevention solutions, and Titus Labs, a provider of classification software enabling organizations to classify, manage and control e-mail and documents, today announced a strategic collaboration that will allow enterprises to better protect against accidental or illicit instances of content loss or leakage. As part of this relationship, customers may jointly deploy the Tablus Content Loss Prevention Suite with the Titus Labs family of classification and policy enforcement tools for Microsoft Office documents and Outlook® and Outlook Web Access (OWA) messages.
The Tablus Content Loss Prevention Suite provides comprehensive protection of sensitive business content from loss or misuse regardless of its state: at rest, in motion, or in use. The Titus Labs family of classification and policy enforcement tools allows enterprises using Microsoft Outlook or Office to classify and label any document or e-mail message, giving them a powerful way to enforce security policy and ensure sensitive or confidential information is appropriately protected. By pairing a message classification technology with a proven content loss prevention solution, Tablus and Titus Labs are adding an additional layer of security to organizations tasked with the protection of sensitive information.
"The relationship between Tablus and Titus Labs provides enterprises with a best-practices approach to the protection of sensitive information," said Vince Barboni, vice president of business development at Tablus. "By coupling content loss prevention with classification and enforcement technology, organizations have access to the most effective method to detect, remediate and report possible leaks of information, whether inadvertent or malicious. The complementary Tablus and Titus Labs solutions allow enterprises to assure customers and employees that their sensitive content is being protected."
With the complete Tablus Content Loss Prevention Suite, organizations of all sizes can protect themselves from accidental loss or misuse of sensitive content, and ensure compliance with privacy regulations and data security policies. Tablus' content discovery, monitoring, and protection capabilities make it possible to identify sensitive content -- whether it is stored or in-transit anywhere on the network or in use on the desktop. That content can then be managed in precise accordance with any number of policies.
"The movement of an enterprise's sensitive information, be it to internal or external stakeholders, is a necessary process that must be carefully monitored to eliminate potential data breaches or identity theft," said Blair Canavan, vice president of business development at Titus Labs. "A critical first step in the identification of sensitive information is data classification. The Titus Labs family of classification products provides a solution that allows end-users to label sensitive content within any document and e-mails. Customers deploying this solution in conjunction with the Tablus Content Loss Prevention Suite ensure that any information that is not labelled is detected, keeping classified information safe within the enterprise and corporate brand equity intact."
Classifying information helps enterprises protect sensitive information, allows them to determine what information should be retained, and makes it easier to find and retrieve information. The Titus Labs family of classification products includes: Message Classification; a message labeling and policy enforcement software for Outlook, and Titus Labs Document Classification for Microsoft Office; a document labeling solution that allows classification labels to be displayed in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint® and Excel® documents to create user awareness and ensure proper handling of documents. Information that has been classified can then be managed and protected.
