TRFA Announces 2009 Annual Meeting Chair



Glen Ellyn, IL--The Thermoset Resin Formulators Association (TRFA) has announced that, Dr. Jay A. Johnston, Bayer MaterialScience, will serve as Chair of its 2009 Annual Meeting, September 13 - 15 at the Sheraton Station Square in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Johnston graduated with a Ph.D. in polymer chemistry from the University of Akron in 1991, then completed postdoctoral fellowships at General Electric's Corporate R & D center and at the University of Akron's Institute of Polymer Science. He joined ICI Polyurethanes in 1994. Currently, he is a Senior Associate Scientist in the CAS (Coatings, Adhesives, and Specialties) group at Bayer MaterialScience in Pittsburgh, Penn., and is currently responsible for applications development in the Adhesives and Sealants markets. Dr. Johnston is active in several chemical industry associations and currently serves on the board of directors for the Polyurea Development Association.

TRFA's 2009 Annual Meeting schedule will include the meetings of its Market Focused Committees, a Tabletop Showcase presented by participating suppliers and formulators, including poster displays by local students, and a General Business Session, as well as unmatched opportunities for informal networking with industry peers.

At the heart of every TRFA Annual Meeting, however, are the Technical Paper Presentations. Technical Paper presentations are essential to meeting one of the association's key objectives, which is to be "the premier forum to interact and exchange knowledge among formulators and suppliers."
