SHIRLEY, MA (February 9, 2006) - Thermoplastic Solutions, Inc., the TPE solutions provider for industry founded by noted TPE expert Jonas Angus, announces that his firm has been named distributor and rep for the U.S. East Coast for thermoplastic urethanes (TPUs) produced by Merquinsa of Spain. Merquinsa operates additional sales and service facilities for the U.S. in New Hampshire.
Merquinsa, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain and with sales and service facilities in the U.S. in Seabrook, NH, is a leading world-wide producer of thermoplastic urethanes for consumer and industrial products. They are sold under the tradenames of Pearlthane and Pearlcoat, among others (www.merquinsa.com). Specifically, notes Dennis Lauzon, Sales Manager of Merquinsa, "We felt that this new distributor/reps' track record in both sales and application development work coupled with a growing demand for TPUs, would be an excellent fit." Mr. Lauzon is quick to add that Merquinsa is the world's largest producer of polycaprolctone thermoplastic polyurethane types for elastomers and adhesives, as well as being the world's only stand-alone, privately held producer of TPUs. Merquinsa has dedicated technical service as well as maintaining large inventories of its offerings in the U.S. as well, he points out.
According to Merquinsa sources, TPE Solutions was chosen because of their experience selling a broad range of other TPE types (TPEs, TPRs, TPVs and TPOs, among other) and contacts within the industries into which they are sold, most notably for automotive, wire and cable, telecommunications and many other industrial applications.
Mr. Angus from TPE Solutions notes that "The addition of the Merquinsa line means that we will be one of the few firms worldwide to offer any industry a single source for nearly all types of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), for whatever their application.
