DALLAS (March 10, 2008) - Helping pave the way for faster, easier ultra-low power embedded control designs, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) will offer the sixth annual MSP430 microcontroller (MCU) "430 Day," a free, three-hour lunch-and-learn event to be held at over 150 locations worldwide, beginning March 25. Sessions will include a MSP430 overview, product updates and technical demonstrations, and attendees will each take home a free eZ430-RF2500 wireless MCU development kit, valued at $49. The ez430-RF2500 development kit is packaged in a convenient USB stick form factor and offers two radio frequency (RF)-enabled MCU target boards and a PC debugging interface to develop stand-alone wireless projects. The ez430-RF2500 kit offers a complete solution for writing code as well as operating and testing applications in the field, enabling developers to quickly and easily build low-power wireless systems for sensing and metering, home security and automation, medical and other innovative applications. The 2008 "430 Day" event, hosted by TI distributors worldwide, teaches embedded application designers how the MSP430 MCU platform enables countless system design possibilities with its 16-bit RISC architecture, advanced peripheral set and wide portfolio, all while maintaining the world's lowest MCU power consumption.
