Solon, Ohio...Bardons & Oliver, a leader in the manufacture of tube and bar cut-off equipment and CNC Turning Machines, offers system integration that can enhance factory automation capabilities.
Bardons & Oliver CNC and Rotating Head machines are already maximized for efficiency but as an authorized Fanuc Robotics integrator, Bardons & Oliver can further increase factory efficiency by customizing systems with Fanuc controls, motors, drives, and robotic loaders/unloaders.
Brian Lane, Vice President of Sales and Marketing commented, "Many customers underestimate the part-making speed of the new generation of machine tools such as our Rotating Head Cut-off Machine. This can lead to increased operator fatigue, especially in the unloading operation. Adding robotics to the machine can significantly increase the efficiency of the entire operation."
After the part is discharged from the machine, a positioning station locates the part so that the robot can grip the part properly. The robot can use a magnetic gripper to lift the part and can even be programmed to tilt it to dump any remaining coolant left in the part. For small parts, the machine can be programmed to simply let the parts randomly fall into a container and let a robot with 2D or 3D vision pick and place the parts at the next desired location.
With the ability to swing 180 degrees, the robot can even service two machines by swinging from one side to the other.
In addition to adding this type of technology to a new machine, labor-saving automation can be added as a retrofit to existing machines.
