Aziz Hikem Named Senior Process Chemist
Latexo, Texas - (June 28, 2011) - Syrgis Performance Chemicals (PChem) today announced that Aziz Hikem has joined the organization and will assume the role of Senior Process Chemist.
"Aziz is an experienced chemical professional who combines a strong chemical background and an understanding of the oilfield industry with a strong team-based approach," said Ted Schlosser, president of Syrgis PChem. "I expect him to make a major impact immediately."
Hikem has 12 years of experience in the chemical industry, across a broad range of technical and application issues. Hikem combines experience in research and development, quality assurance, process improvement, and field technical service. He has previously worked for Weatherford International, Headwaters Construction Materials and Sonatrach (in Algeria). Hikem has a Bachelor of Science degree in applied chemical engineering from the University of Bejaia (in Algeria) and a Master of Science in physical chemistry from the University of Paris.
In 2009, Syrgis (parent company of Syrgis PChem) embarked on a plan to strengthen its technology capabilities. In the last two years, Syrgis has completed major expansions to laboratories at each operating company (more than doubling the space at each location). Syrgis has also doubled the number of people working on technology and has greatly expanded its analytical capabilities.
