Syndiant Introduces First HD .37" Microdisplay Solution
Displays High Definition 720p Video - for Pico Projection Market
DALLAS, -- Syndiant, a leader in high resolution microdisplays for pico projectors, is expanding its product line with the introduction of a new breakthrough chip set solution that includes the SYL2271 HD display panel and the SYA1231 controller.
"The consumer electronics market has rapidly transitioned to High Definition and our customers have been demanding HD resolution for pico projection products. The end consumer views lower resolutions as a significant compromise," said Keith Lewis, President Syndiant. The SYL2271 provides 1280 x 720 resolution with a .37" display diagonal and fits into a package that is only 7.75 mm high, enabling it to fit into very thin products, including embedded applications.
Fujitsu, a long-standing Syndiant partner, developed the world's first 130 nm LCOS technology which was essential for the development of the SYL2271 imager. The SYA1231 controller was developed in a collaborative effort with Toshiba. The controller includes an embedded ARM(TM) processor that can be used to implement custom features to differentiate the product and enhance the user experience.
"Toshiba's industry-leading embedded DRAM technology allowed us to create a fundamentally new architecture that dramatically improves performance resulting in lower power, lower cost and higher brightness," added Mark Harward, Chief Strategy Officer at Syndiant.
Syndiant will be at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas January 10-13th 2012 and will demonstrate their new HD solution and their entire product line. Syndiant will have a private suite in the Hilton Convention Center Hotel.
