Symtavision Appointed a Contributing Member of ARTOP

Braunschweig, Germany - 22nd May 2012. Symtavision, the global leader for timing design and timing verification for embedded real-time systems, has announced that it has been appointed as a Contributing Member of the ARTOP (AUTOSAR Tool Platform) User Group.

ARTOP is an Eclipse-based infrastructure platform implementation of common base functionality and core features for development tools that are used to design and configure AUTOSAR-compliant systems and ECUs. The aim of ARTOP is to improve the quality and interoperability of AUTOSAR development tools and help eliminate the time lag between the release of new versions of the AUTOSAR standard and the availability of development tools that support the new specifications. Development is organized by the Design Members of the ARTOP User Group, which includes BMW, Continental and Peugeot/Citroen, and implemented using a transparent, community-based approach by the group of ten Contributing Members including Symtavision. ARTOP, including its source code, is available free of charge to all AUTOSAR members and partners.

"Our appointment as a Contributing Member of the ARTOP User Group recognises both our leading role in the development of AUTOSAR-compliant systems and ECUs and emphasizes our commitment to designers by improving the common base for AUTOSAR development tools," said Dr. Kai Richter, CTO of Symtavision. "We have benefitted considerably from using ARTOP to minimize our development costs for non-competitive functionality and freeing development resources to concentrate on our competitive advantage. As a consequence, we have developed considerable functionality around ARTOP which we expect, as a Contributing Member, to integrate into future releases for the benefit of other tool developers."

About Symtavision

Symtavision® is a leader in embedded design software tools and services. The company enables the rapid and cost-effective planning, optimization and timing verification of complex, safety- and performance-critical embedded real-time systems - from early-phase estimation to final verification.

Symtavision's innovative scheduling analysis tool suite for system-level timing design and timing verification, SymTA/S, helps engineers conquer design challenges for controllers, processors, bus/networks and complete integrated systems. It is used extensively in automotive electronics with support provided for industry standards including AUTOSAR, CAN, FlexRay and OSEK, and in the avionics industry with support provided for ARINC 653 partitioned operating systems and ARINC 664 switched Ethernet, and time-triggered communication. SymTA/S also provides support for a variety of other industry sectors including the automation, multimedia, telecommunications and transportation markets. Symtavision's associated TraceAnalyzer is a powerful solution for visualizing and analyzing timing data from both measurements and simulations. TraceAnalyzer seamlessly integrates with SymTA/S.

Symtavision is headquartered in Braunschweig (Germany) with subsidiary offices in Munich (Germany) and Cologne (Germany) and is supported by a global network of distributors. Symtavision is also a founding member of the Real-Time Experts Alliance which was formed in 2008 to provide complete solutions for all timing challenges in real-time systems development.
