(NASDAQ: SYMM) today announced that it is sponsoring the ATIS IPTV architecture webinar on Thursday, March 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EDT/10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. PDT. This informative one-hour webinar will focus on the importance of video quality monitoring in IPTV, specifically Quality of Experience (QoE) monitoring.

Featured speakers for the webinar are AT&T's Network Architecture and Planning Principal Member of the Technical Staff Robert Streijl; Triveni Digital's Chief Technical Officer Dr. Richard Chernock; and Symmetricom's Quality of Experience Assurance Division Principal Technologist Dr. Stefan Winkler.

As the final in the ATIS IPTV architecture webinar series, this ATIS webinar will focus on the end-to-end IPTV delivery chain and discuss the importance of video quality for end-users. The session will introduce best practices and solutions for Quality of Service (QoS) and correlation with perceptual video QoE monitoring for content integrity. The industry experts will also examine the monitoring in the IPTV distribution system that is necessary to ensure that a quality product is delivered to end viewers.

The March 27 webinar presentations will include:

o IPTV, QoS and correlation with perceptual "human vision system" based video QoE end-to-end monitoring requirements from a content metrics / integrity point of view. o Ensuring quality for video content via deeper transport stream analysis to include meeting timing and buffer models, correct signaling of and linkage amongst program elements and synchronization between video and audio. o A unique look at monitoring considerations from a service provider angle, best practices in QoE from a monitoring vendor perspective, and CPE and QoE considerations from an STB viewpoint.
