KBA Rapida 105 six-colour press with new blank-tagging capability

Rondo, one of Europe's leading producers of folding cartons, clinical inspection samples and specialist packaging for the pharmaceutical industry, has ordered a KBA Rapida 105 six-colour B1 (41in) UV coater press with extended delivery for its subsidiary Rondo-Pak USA, near Philadelphia. The press, which can print both paper and board, has a high level of automation that includes a no-sidelay KBA DriveTronic Sensoric Infeed System (SIS), KBA DensiTronic S density and spectral imaging control, automatic colour register control and KBA QualiTronic II quality inspection with blank-tagging capability - a first in sheetfed offset. KBA is working with Rondo to optimise the high-speed identification system and adapt it to the packaging industry's specific needs.

Based in Allschwil, Switzerland, Rondo is part of the Korber Medipak Group. Its investment will enable its US subsidiary to expand its market activities by offering customers high-profile finishing options.
