Swagelok Company Names Technical Sales Manager to Commercialize Breakthrough Technology
SOLON, Ohio (October 31, 2007) Swagelok Company announced the appointment of Peter Ehlers to the newly created position of technical sales manager for its recently formed Swagelok Technology Services Company (STSC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swagelok. STSC was established earlier this year to market and commercialize the Swagelok® SAT12SM patented surface-hardening process, a method for heat-treating austenitic stainless steels that enables large-scale carbon absorption, dramatically improving hardness and other performance characteristics. As technical sales manager, Ehlers is responsible for identifying potential customers, conducting market analysis and development, and determining sales strategy and channel creation for the breakthrough technology. Ehlers joined Swagelok in 2003 as alternative fuels market manager with responsibility for the company's technology and product roadmaps within the alternative fuels market. Previously, Ehlers was a business unit manager for OPW Fueling Components, where he managed the design, development, analysis, and production of high-pressure alternative fueling products. Ehlers holds a bachelor of applied science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Cleveland State University.
