Goal is to Help Companies Reduce Costs and Gain Competitive Advantage

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) will gather together supply chain and procurement professionals in the off-road equipment industry June 4-6, 2007 for its annual Supply Chain/Purchasing Seminar. The seminar will be held at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

This AEM seminar is designed specifically to address equipment industry needs and help industry professionals better manage the increasingly complex supply chain, purchasing and procurement processes. The seminar will explore key elements of the supply chain cycle such as forecasting and planning, order/demand management, sourcing, purchasing, order fulfillment, logistics and asset management.

Companies seeking a competitive advantage view supply chain management as a critical component of their business strategy, notes AEM's Chuck Frey. "Every day, manufacturers leave a significant amount of money in unrealized savings on the table because of poor supply chain management processes. This seminar is designed to help equipment manufacturers to adopt best practices, recoup these costs and to grow their competitive edge."

The AEM supply chain/purchasing seminar will feature leading global supply chain expert R. David Nelson of HTC Global Services, who has provided assistance to companies including Delphi, Honda and Deere and Company. He will deliver a keynote address on strategic sourcing, cost management, lean supplier development and other supply chain management strategies.

Also on the agenda is noted industry analyst Eli Lustgarten of Longbow Research discussing economic and forecasting trends, and a closing keynote presentation on successful change management by Mike Hourigan, author of "Leadership Secrets of Santa Claus" and "Riding the Waves Without Getting Wet."

Presenting companies also on the agenda include Angus-Palm, Bobcat Company, Cummins Inc., CV International, Deere and Company, Deloitte Consulting, Fastenal, GE Capital Solutions, JCIT International, JLG Industries, Timken Company and Volvo Logistics North America.
