Press release date: May 14, 2012
Suntron Corporation, a leader in integrated electronics manufacturing systems (EMS) and embedded computing solutions, announces that it has received the 2012 Arizona Manufacturers Council (AMC) Manufacturer of the Year Award. Suntron accepted the award at a reception on May 11, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Phoenix, Arizona.
The AMC Manufacturer of the Year Award was established to highlight the importance of manufacturing to Arizona's economic well-being, and it honors companies for both their social and economic contributions to the state. Winners must also demonstrate excellence in four key areas: manufacturing processes, products produced, management philosophy, and dedication to the manufacturing community.
"We are very excited to receive this prestigious award," said Ed Wheeler, president and CEO. "To have been selected from such a strong group of manufacturers is a real honor. We're very committed to the Arizona community and are pleased that Suntron's electronics manufacturing capabilities are being recognized." Past winners include The Boeing Company, Frito Lay, PING, and Intel Corporation. Like these previous honorees, Suntron was recognized by the committee as a company that produces superior products, provides high-quality jobs, and demonstrates a strong commitment to Arizona.
"Suntron represents the very best of manufacturing in Arizona," Arizona Manufacturers Council Chairman Steve Macias said. "They are well deserving of the recognition they received. The breadth of Friday's award-winning industries -- electronics, heavy metals, telecommunications and chemicals -- shows that manufacturing is very much alive in Arizona and, with a business environment that is increasingly attractive to manufacturers, will only continue to grow."
