Sun and Hatsize Partnership Provides Sun Education Partners with Competitive Advantage
SANTA CLARA, Calif. and CALGARY, Alberta, April 11 / -- Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:SUNW) and Hatsize Learning Corporation, the TrueLab online solution provider, today announced Sun has partnered with Hatsize to deliver a globally standardized technology training lab environment using the Hatsize infrastructure.
A critical part of the learning process is the ability to teach hands-on skills for real-world IT environments. Sun's Remote Labs offer mentored practice as a structured part of learning, in both traditional classroom and Live Virtual Class training, and lets students remotely access high-end Sun hardware to complete hands-on instructional labs. Sun's Remote Labs allow IT workers to be trained in the same way they will typically work on the job, and help to provide the most realistic training possible.
Adoption of the Hatsize online lab environment will ensure Sun's ability to meet its high standards of training quality to its customers and their employees, and strengthens the competitive position of Sun education partners, who are a critical part of its education ecosystem.
"Sun education is a key customer enabler and an important differentiator for our education partners," said Kevin Coyne, vice president of educational services for Sun Microsystems. "Our partnership with Hatsize allows us to stay at the forefront of delivering a robust, scalable and standardized lab environment for Sun training."
Sun and its partners provide innovative learning solutions that enable customers and their employees to capitalize on the power of Sun technology, services and knowledge. Sun's educational services are rooted in the view that skilled people are an essential component of an effective IT solution, and Sun's educational offerings help to drive greater success for Sun's customers allowing them to maximize their Sun investment.
"By adopting the Hatsize infrastructure, Sun Remote Labs now has a proven solution that offers greater convenience, flexibility and accessibility," said Guy Hummel, CEO of Hatsize. "Sun and Hatsize are pursuing a common vision of supporting traditional classroom learning, while using technology to break down barriers to learning regardless of location, which results in greater customer satisfaction."
Through the use of Hatsize technologies, learners are freed from constraints due to equipment availability, proximity and travel. They can now benefit from training on advanced Sun hardware on a 24-hour basis through simple one-click access, whether learning from their desktops in a traditional classroom or a virtual classroom.
