Summa Joins FactoryTalk Information Solution Provider Program

Invests in resources to implement software that improves integration between enterprise resource planning and plant-floor control systems

MILWAUKEE, June 18, 2007 -Rockwell Automation announced that Summa has joined its FactoryTalk Information Solution Provider Program. As a partner in the program, Summa will help manufacturers build successful, plant-wide information applications and manufacturing execution systems (MES) using the FactoryTalk integrated production and performance software suite.

Rockwell Automation launched the Information Solution Provider Program in October 2006 to provide manufacturers with an extended network of information systems professionals to help them integrate their control and information environments for better manufacturing performance. Rockwell Automation trains and certifies participants on implementing applications within the FactoryTalk suite to facilitate better interaction between the plant floor and higher-level business systems. Through the creation of the program, Rockwell Automation adds to its own services organization's solutions and delivery capabilities around the FactoryTalk suite. Summa provides IT consulting services and customized software development for companies in various industries. Summa specializes in helping clients evaluate and implement IT modernization strategies to better meet their business and performance objectives.

Summa has a team of consultants dedicated to delivering FactoryTalk solutions and assisting Rockwell Automation in their pursuit to provide manufacturers with better integration between their ERP and plant-floor control systems.

"Summa is well-versed in software for business collaboration and integration - skill sets that are valuable to manufacturers striving to compete on a global scale," said Kevin Roach, vice president of software, Rockwell Automation. "Having Summa as part of our partner network is a testament to the commitment we're making to help our customers use plant-floor data to improve collaboration and manufacturing performance."

"With FactoryTalk, Rockwell Automation is building a suite of automation software that truly takes into account the needs of the integrator," said Audrey Dunning, chief executive officer, Summa. "The service-oriented architecture and range of customizable applications allow companies like Summa to help our customers quickly achieve time-to-value on their integration investments. We have a long history of helping customers solve complex data integration challenges and we look forward to partnering with Rockwell on implementing the FactoryTalk suite to help customers achieve tighter ERP-to-MES integration and ultimately, better manufacturing performance."
