San Marcos, CA, Feb14:Sullins Electronics, a global leader in the design and manufacture of 100% RoHS-compliant board level interconnect products, announced the creation of a Custom Connector Program developed to provide OEMs and assembliers with a quality resource for fast delivery of specialty products at off-the-shelf prices. The Program's implementation required the expansion of the Company's engineering capabilities and the employment of additional in-house designed tooling. Notably, Sullins is now often able to build and ship custom parts in less than a week, and accommodate order quantities as small as 10 pieces. The UL94-0 rated parts additionally provide the utmost in electrical and mechanical properties to ensure the reliability and integrity of connections.

The ideal solution for special projects where shortening development time and competitive pricing are factors, Sullins' custom products satisfy the exacting demands of a broad spectrum of mission-critical applications. Included among the application-specific edgecards, headers, bi-level, and Compact PCI(TM) connectors which can be specified are those featuring contact centers ranging from 1 mm to 0.156", as well as card slots engineered to accommodate custom PC boards in thicknesses of from 0.031" to 0.125". Also, high density, high temperature, high Amp (5A max.), and bi-level connectors, along with any contact row spacing, are manufactured to customers' exacting specifications. Pin and insulator materials for a wide array of temperature-sensitive applications, including those with operating temperature ranges of -65 degrees C to 250 degrees C, are stocked in quantity.

The Custom Connector Program's capabilities moreover afford customers a variety of options in their choice of mounting ears, contact loads, "between positions" or "in positions" molded keys, and selective or full platings. Special right-angle, card extender, and SMT bends are offered together with a large selection of termination tail lengths. Also provided are high cycle, dip solder, full loop/hair pin, wire wrap, cantilever, and eyelet contacts. Devices with varied insertion forces, and those engineered for dual, single or half load applications are facilitated. Sullins will stamp part numbers on specialty connectors as per customers' requests, and provide numerous additional value-added services.
