Four years ago, Mindware Technologies, a Gahanna, Ohio-based company specializing in biomedical research applications, was looking to market its first product, the BioNex Mainframe, to aid instructors and entry-level researchers in laboratories. With little knowledge about packaging, Mindware called on the experts at Buckeye Shapeform for guidance. Out of the 13 enclosure series and 230 models Buckeye offers, BMU suited the BioNex because it could be easily customized and accessorized to meet the customers' specific needs. The BMU's flexibility allowed Buckeye to create a version of the enclosure that was half its standard width and depth to accommodate the product's unique size.
In addition to a customized size, Buckeye also fashioned self-clinching inserts and rubber molded feet to the standard BMU to increase the product's functionality. Mindware requested a few of the value-added services Buckeye offers, such as punching holes, machining, finishing, painting, screen printing and AutoCAD Drawings, to complete the enclosure.
