Press release date: July 31, 2006

WALTHAM, Mass. - July 31, 2006 - Cape Clear Software, a leading provider of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) solutions to enable Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), has captured the largest market share of the North American Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) space for the second year in a row, according to Gartner Dataquest's recent report on the application integration and middleware (AIM) market, "Market Share - AIM and Portal Software Worldwide 2005." According to the June 2006 report, Cape Clear holds 18.9 percent of the North American ESB market, and has experienced revenue growth numbers of 86.7 percent. Worldwide, Cape Clear captured 15.9 percent of the market.

The report provides a qualitative look at the AIM market and individual segments comprising that space. Total sales in the Worldwide ESB space were $114.8 million in 2005-a 160.7 percent growth from 2004, making it the fastest-growing AIM market segment.

According to the report, "The introduction of Web services and the resulting popularization of SOA caused a major upheaval in this market.

Before 2002, integration backbones were largely proprietary, and many application developers were unknowledgeable about SOA and event-driven design. During 2002 through 2004, a new type of middleware, ESBs, came to market to exploit Web-services standards and the growing interest in SOA."

"The Gartner AIM Report is a clear illustration of the strength of the ESB market," said Annrai O'Toole, chief executive officer of Cape Clear.

"We believe the rapid expansion of this market spurs Cape Clear to improve upon our product even more. Cape Clear relishes the suddenly fierce competition and look forward to furthering our leadership position."

One of the early innovators in the space, Cape Clear's ESB, based on open, flexible technology, routinely delivers enterprise SOA projects in a small fraction of the time and cost of alternative approaches.

About Cape Clear Software Cape Clear Software provides the fastest, simplest, and most proven way to implement a Service Oriented Architecture, delivering enterprise SOA projects in 20 percent of the time and cost of alternative approaches.
