New Models Incorporate C4(TM) LED Technology for Highly Intense Beam With Up to Triple the Brightness
EAGLEVILLE, PA - February 5, 2008 - Streamlight, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance flashlights for professional users, has introduced new versions of eight key products featuring new power LED technology, resulting in flashlights with a more powerful, intense beam and double the brightness of earlier models. The company also introduced its brightest LED flashlight ever - the Super-Tac(TM) - featuring the new LED technology, resulting in a light source that is three times brighter than standard LEDs.
The enhanced models include the Argo® LED and Argo® HP headlamps, the Task-Light® 3AA, the Streamlight Jr. ® and the Streamlight Jr.® Reach, the TL-2® LED, the Nightfighter® (formerly the NF-2® LED) and the Scorpion® LED.
The new lights incorporate the next advance in LED technology, called C4(TM) LEDs, which have both the light output and efficacy to rival traditionally brighter incandescent light sources while delivering the long run times and indestructibility which characterize LEDs. Lights equipped with power LEDs are the perfect solution for a wide range of professional tasks that require extreme brightness, while benefiting from exceptionally long running times.
The enhanced LEDs are made possible by a new development in laser chip manufacturing called Controlled Collapse Chip Connection or "C4," according to Ray Sharrah, Streamlight's Chief Operating Officer. "Because no two LEDs are precisely alike, Streamlight has carefully selected only LED suppliers that incorporate world-class technology in order to consistently produce 'prime cut' power LEDs for our flashlight products," said Sharrah. "This means that our professional users can be assured that Streamlight products equipped with C4 LEDs are consistently bright, with improved light output efficiency."
