Industry Veteran to Focus on Expanding Fujitsu's Foundry Services Business

Sunnyvale, California, December 4, 2007 - Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) today announced that semiconductor industry veteran Steve Della Rocchetta has joined the company as vice president of the CLSI Business Unit. He is based at FMA's U.S. headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA, and reports directly to Keith Horn, Chief Operating Officer of Fujitsu Microelectronics America. Della Rocchetta is responsible for day-to-day operations of FMA's ASIC, COT and COT+ business, sales and account management activities in the Americas.

Della Rocchetta has more than 30 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining FMA, he was the executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Silterra, a foundry supplier based in Malaysia. He also held executive sales positions at Chartered Semiconductor and ESM Ltd., and has 18 years of various management positions in wafer fab operations.

"Steve has extensive sales and operational experience as well as high-level connections throughout the industry," said Horn. "He has a successful track record of growing major accounts at prominent semiconductor companies, and his leadership will help us expand our customer base and business in the Americas."

"Fujitsu has an outstanding technology and service platform from which to address the growing foundry services segment," said Della Rocchetta. "We have advanced 300mm process technologies, high-value intellectual property and turnkey services in place. I am pleased to have the opportunity to lead the expansion of Fujitsu's presence in the marketplace."

To help fabless customers and partners migrate successfully to its 90nm and 65nm node technology, Fujitsu enhances the typical foundry model with a full array of design and methodology services including high-speed I/O design; IP cores; RTL design; synthesis and physical synthesis; design partitioning; floorplanning; static-timing analysis; test; and other services critical to first-pass success. Fujitsu continues to move process development forward, and is now engaging with its customers regarding its cutting-edge 45nm technology to meet their demands without delay.
