Stephen Gould Delivers Accurate, Full-Working Prototypes

Press release date: March 3, 2014

As an industry leader in packaging, Stephen Gould Corporation offers clients the most creative solutions to their design challenges by utilizing a versatile range of equipment that enhances prototyping and production performance and value. The company is continually investing in the most advanced machinery and technology to provide state-of-the-art design and engineering to meet virtually any requirement.

Stephen Gould's in-house operation includes fully equipped graphics and mechanical engineering departments as well as package-testing facilities and transit laboratories that support NSTA and ISTA-certified programs. Utilizing these resources, we are able to quickly and cost-effectively transform electronic images of container construction and product placement into fully working, accurate prototypes for client examination.

Machinery used by Stephen Gould includes:
Kongsberg XL plotting table -- has the ability to cut all types of corrugated, SBS and chip boards, sheet PET material, and all kinds of foam up to three inches in depth. It allows us to work out complicated projects that require many mediums all at once.

Lenpure Drop Tester -- provides precise, repeatable drop tests to determine the ability of a package to withstand the rigors of different handling experiences. It has the ability to drop from varying height that meet ISTA 1, 2, and 3-drop sequences and also provides a monitored drop (uncertified) using an accelerometer to calculate G force and other stats while performing tests.

Stratasys Fortus 250 – a 3D printer with  a 10 x 10 x 12–inch build area which can produce durable prototypes, manufacturing tools, and end-use parts using ABS material in a variety of colors. It allows us to provide clients with a highly accurate shape, look, and feel of a part before going to production.

Stratasys Object 30 Pro -- a 3D desktop printer that provides a high level of prototyping accuracy, versatility,  and speed. With a build area of 11.75 x 7.75 x 6 inches, it prints in clear transparent material,  high temperature-resistant material, and polypropylene-like material. We commonly use it to simulate injection molded parts, one-off thermoform trays, and small working assembly like a phone case or a computer mouse.
