Press release date: August 24, 2009
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is pleased to announce the availability of new Korean content on the StandardsPortal (www.standardsportal.org), an online resource that facilitates international trade. Information on the standards and conformity assessment systems of Korea is now provided in English, and previously available information on the U.S. is now available in Korean.
The development of new content and translation was carried out in cooperation with the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS). Wiro Lee, Ph.D., and Sangme Han, Ph.D., of KATS participated in ANSI's International Guest Researcher Program, working at ANSI from November 2008 to August 2009. Dr. Lee and Dr. Han assisted ANSI with translating StandardsPortal content into Korean and developing new resources on the Korean market.
The StandardsPortal was originally launched in 2006, and currently contains information about the standards and conformity assessment systems of the U.S., the People's Republic of China, India, and the Republic of Korea.
