ASABE Revises Two Soil and Water Standards



ST JOSEPH, MICHIGAN- The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has revised two standards related to soil and water conservation.

ASAE S268.5, Design, Layout, Construction, and Maintenance of Terrace Systems, is a complete rewrite of its predecessor and incorporates new procedures for spacing terraces based on erosion prediction technology, new tillage methods and construction techniques. The second document, ASAE S442.1, Water and Sediment Control Basins, contains revisions that ensure compatibility and continuity with the changes in S268.5.
