ANSI and ISA Invite Stakeholders to Discuss Financial Impact of Cyber Risk

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Internet Security Alliance (ISA) invite all interested stakeholders to participate in the fourth meeting to discuss Phase II of The Financial Impact of Cyber Risk: 50 Questions Every CFO Should Ask. The meeting will be held on December 10, 2009, in New York City.

The Financial Impact of Cyber Risk: 50 Questions Every CFO Should Ask is a joint initiative to identify and respond to the current needs of the C-suite community regarding cyber risk. Phase I provided questions that organizations and chief financial officers (CFOs) should explore to identify and quantify the financial risk associated with cybersecurity. The final workshop framework document from Phase I is available for review at webstore.ansi.org/cybersecurity. [see related news item]

Phase II is focused on developing an implementation strategy that addresses the questions provided in Phase I. Additionally, this initiative will expand that framework to include guidance on making more informed decisions related to cyber risk from an economic standpoint.

A workshop to discuss the continued development of Phase II will take place on December 10, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Phillips Nizer LLP in Manhattan. This is the fourth and final meeting to discuss the Phase II work effort; the first three were held during the summer and fall of 2009. As a result of progress made through the first three meetings, the initiative is in its final stages of completion. However, new participants are welcome to attend and contribute to the project's finalization.

Participation is open to all stakeholders who represent standards developing organizations, consortia and other forums, industry, government, and consumers. Attendance is free of charge, but due to space limitations advance registration by December 1, 2009, is required. Click here to register.

Further details, including a draft agenda, are forthcoming and will be posted to the event page. For more information or for questions about the December 10 meeting, contact Karen Hughes (khughes@ansi.org; 212.642.4992) or Jessica Carl (jcarl@ansi.org; 212.642.4903).
