Press release date: October 1, 2008

An often overlooked and sometimes misunderstood item used in fluid power circuitry is a device called a check valve. Their function is very simple, they allow passage of media in one direction while blocking the flow in the opposite direction. Lexair high flow check valves can be used with a variety of media including air (or other inert compressed gases), oil or liquids. Our valves feature a large, resilient poppet that provides soft-seat sealing for bubble tight closure, even under low pressure conditions. Bronze, brass and stainless steel components of construction plus a wide choice of seal materials provide excellent compatibility with a wide range of media and allow us to provide a spread of working temperatures from -70 through 400 degrees F. Lexair check valves are perfect for applications requiring higher pressures (up to 500 PSI standard) with substantial flow which sets us apart from some other devices on the market. Several manufactures can go to much higher pressures (6,000 PSI and beyond) but only by severely limiting the flow of their devices to miniscule amounts. Our product range is from ½" NPT through 2" NPT port sizes with flows up to a Cv of 50 or about 790 GPM of water (with a 500 PSI inlet pressure and a 50% pressure drop across the valve).

In addition to the all of their other great features, our Check Valves are also easy to service or repair when/should the need arise due to working conditions or time. Simply removing the hex nut from body allows quick access to valve's poppet assembly without the need to disconnect the piping or the use of special tools. This can be a big plus to customers as it means there is not a lot of labor involved with a repair and the downtime to replace the poppet assembly and seals is literally a couple of minutes in most cases. In this era where time is money, these valves may be just what customers are looking for - a durable, long lasting product that is extremely quick and easy to service, what more could you ask for?

Applications include:
o Car wash equipment
o Commercial laundry equipment
o Air compressors and controls
o Industrial air dryers and controls
o Water/waste water treatment
o Utility facilities
o Any circuit that requires the flow of air, oil or liquids in only one direction
