Original Press Release:

Contestants "Spot the Retreads" for Chances to Win $10,000 of Retreaded Tires

It was another successful week for TRIB at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville. With the help of several of our member companies, we were able to display a selection of new and retreaded tires for contestants to try and identify and have a chance to win a set of eight retreaded tires. Please click below for brief video highlights of our contest.

Traffic was brisk at the booth all three days of the show with well over 250 attendees taking part in the contest. Of the participants, less than 10% of them were able to correctly identify all of the retreaded tires. Having them go back and look at the retreaded tires they missed really opened up opportunities to have a broader discussion about the quality of retreaded tires and purchase options for these owner-operators. Every year, we've had more and more positive discussions about their experiences with retreaded tires. The other topics that were top of mind for this year's attendees were: wide-base tires, SmartWay and the continued high cost of new tires.

After the show, we drew seven winners who will each be receiving a set of eight retreaded tires on their casings with the help of our generous member companies, including: AcuTread Alliance Group, Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions, Continental Tire the Americas, Goodyear Retreads, Marangoni Tread North America, Michelin Retread Technologies, and Oliver Rubber Company.

Our booth, the contest, and media coverage of the event were great ways to reach a lot of end users and continue to spread the word about the economic and environmental benefits of retreaded tires. Your membership dues make events like this possible, so thank you for your support.
