Spherion Launches Interactive Web Site and Blog Series to Attract Next Generation of Skilled Workers

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 17 / -- Spherion Corporation, a leading provider of recruiting, staffing and workforce solutions, announces the innovative redesign of its company Web site, www.spherion.com, and launch of its new college-centric career blog as part of its broader initiative to attract the next generation of skilled workers through multiple emerging media channels.

Through intuitive navigation and guided video tours, the enhanced Spherion® Web site optimizes the job search process for candidates and employers alike. Upon entering the site, a host of video personalities guide candidates through setting up individual profile pages. Candidates are given the option of choosing a "Career Path" including job categories from finance and IT to administrative, clerical and light industrial or "Life Path" to allow job seekers the option of searching by life stage - entry level, early career, mid-career and mature. The information provided for each user's profile enables Spherion to make customized career matches.

"As a leader in the recruiting and staffing industry, it is imperative we continue reaching the current and future generation of skilled workers through their preferred information channels which have clearly migrated to the Web," said Kip Havel, Spherion's director of corporate marketing and public relations. "Our main goal with the Web site redesign was to improve and customize the job search experience so that our candidates could receive more specific information regarding their careers. We believe in making the right career matches for our candidates and providing our clients with the best and brightest talent as efficiently and effectively as possible. Our enhanced site allows us to accomplish all of this and more."

The redesigned site also includes links to Spherion's existing digital resources, including its SpherionTheAir career podcasts, episodes of its popular Temp Life and Career Download Web series and its Big Time career blog. Spherion has also recently launched a second blog, My Campus Chronicles, written for and by college students from around the country.

In an effort to engage Generation Y, Spherion wanted to provide an outlet for college students to share their experiences and advice on making the transition from classroom to cubicle. My Campus Chronicles is written by four college students who are charged with balancing school and work, as well as sharing advice and tips with their peers on making it in the 'real world'. Topics range from choosing a concentration and on-campus jobs to the workplace trends currently affecting Gen-Y.
