at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Cleveland - Combine reality TV with two hot rod enthusiasts and what do you get? Cable network SPEED's weekly program "Two Guys Garage." During the show's July 16, 2006,
episode, co-host Sam Memmolo will treat viewers with a visit to the Indiana Oxygen/Lincoln Welders Garage, located on site at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The episode was filmed in May, just weeks before the running of the May 28 Indianapolis 500. In this episode, one of the show's hosts, Sam Memmolo, discusses Indy Racing League (IRL) race car trackside welding repairs using Lincoln's new Precision TIG® 225, the most technologically advanced TIG welding power source in its class.

The Precision TIG 225 was demonstrated by Dennis Klingman, Lincoln's Manager of Technical Training, and Wyatt Swaim, President of Hi-Tech Welding Services and a Lincoln TIG welding consultant. They were joined by former IRL driver Al Unser, who made a special guest appearance on the show. Klingman and Swaim showcased the Precision TIG 225's versatility on various car parts, showing why the machine is easy to use for the beginning welder, while offering more advanced welding functions for the experienced user.

The Indiana Oxygen/Lincoln Electric Welders Garage is a joint venture by the two companies to provide on-site welding operations, technical expertise, support and products to the Indy race teams. Lincoln personnel have offered on-site welding services and trackside assistance for all of the IRL teams throughout the month leading up to the race since 1988. Lincoln distributor Indiana Oxygen has operated the welding garage and supplied industrial gases at the speedway for 90 years.

"This was a great opportunity for Lincoln," explained Mickey Holmes, Lincoln Electric's Manager of Motorsports Marketing. "We're very appreciative to the show for allowing us to demonstrate the capabilities of our new welder, which is a perfect fit for precise automotive, aero industry and job shop applications. Plus, we're able to give their viewers a small peek into what goes on at the Indy 500."

This episode of "Two Guys Garage" on SPEED will first air on July 16 at 10:30 a.m. EST. The show, in its fifth season, features co-hosts Sam Memmolo and Dave McBride covering hands-on issues ranging from welding and braking systems, to exhaust systems and the right paint job.

Co-host Sam Memmolo added, "Working with Lincoln on this episode was a great experience. Our goal is to showcase products and techniques that our viewers can implement on their own, and we were able to do that with this episode. And there was the added bonus of giving our audience members an insider's look at what goes on at the Indy 500."
