Speakers to Offer Inside Perspective on Technology, Manufacturing Policies at AeroDef Manufacturing Summit and Exposition 2014
DEARBORN, Mich. – The Exclusive Industry Keynote Address and Featured Speaker Sessions at this year's AeroDef® Manufacturing Summit and Exposition 2014 will offer insiders’ perspective on strategies to optimize technologies and policies to maintain predominance in aerospace and defense, according to event producer SME.
AeroDef Manufacturing takes place February 25–27, 2014, at the Long Beach (Calif.) Convention Center. Speakers were selected for the AeroDef Manufacturing Intelligence Series in partnership with a committee comprised of senior manufacturing professionals from aerospace and defense OEMs, NASA and the National Center for Defense Manufacturing & Machining (NCDMM).
Gerould Young, director, Materials & Manufacturing Technology, Boeing Research & Technology. Young delivers the exclusive keynote address, “The Lure of New Materials and the Corresponding Reality of Manufacturing at Rate and Cost,” on Wednesday, February 26, from 8:00 – 9:00 am.
Michael F. Molnar, director, National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) Advanced Manufacturing National Program Office and SME 2014 president. Molnar speaks about the work of the new manufacturing innovation institutes on Thursday, February 27, from 8:00–8:30 am.
Major General Dennis M. Kenneally, USA (retired), executive director, Southwest Defense Alliance (SWDA) and David Herbst, vice chairman, Southwest Defense Alliance (SWDA). Maj. Gen. Kenneally, a member of California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr.’s Military Council, and Mr. Herbst will address the economic impact of federal budget cuts, known as the sequestration, on the industrial base on Tuesday, February 25, from 8:00–8:45 am.
Yancy D. Mailes, director, History & Museum Program, Air Force Global Strike. Mailes speaks on aviation history in context of today’s programs at the Take Off!, the opening reception for the exposition and summit, on Tuesday, February 25, at 3:00 pm.
