SAN DIEGO, CA, U.S.A. -The Sorensen SG Series of programmable power supplies has been expanded to include a 0-800Vdc offering. This product is targeted to meet the emerging higher voltage requirements of the hybrid vehicle component and PV inverter test markets.

The SG is available with 5kW, 10kW or 15kW in a 3Uchassis. Higher power systems can be easily configured via the SG series user friendly paralleling capability. The SG Series is designed for sharp, load transient response, low noise and exceptional power density. Featuring front- to-rear, forced air convection cooling, SG series products can be rack mounted with zero vertical separation thus optimizing rack utilization.

The Sorensen SG Series is available in two control versions: SGA with basic analog controls and SGI with intelligent control features. The SGI version combines onboard intelligent controls with outstanding power electronics that enable sophisticated sequencing, constant power mode and save/recall of instrument settings. Looping of sequences makes the SGI ideal for repetitive testing. It also features an impressive vacuum fluorescent graphical display in eight languages, context sensitive "soft" keys, front panel keyboard for simplified programming and a RS-232 interface.

The SGA version is suited for those customers requiring simple front panel analog controls or external control. It has the same high-performance power electronics as the SGI and such essential features as 10-turn potentiometers for setting voltage and current, 3 ½ digit LED readout.

Both SGA and SGI models offer optional LXI Class C Ethernet or IEEE-488.2 interface.
