Sloan-C expects the largest Blended Learning Conference audience to date

MADISON, Wis., March 28, 2011 - Sonic Foundry, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting, lecture capture and knowledge management continues its Coast-to-Coast technology partnership with Sloan-C by using Mediasite to webcast the Blended Learning Conference & Workshop taking place this week in Oak Brook, Ill.

This is the first time the hybrid-conference model has been applied to the growing Blended Learning Conference. Sloan-C expects about 20 percent of the audience to participate online. The keynote address, plenary panel, four workshops, 14 information sessions, and five Great Idea sessions will be webcast live to virtual attendees via Mediasite. Those sessions will also be available for on-demand viewing after the conference to registered onsite and virtual option attendees. Participants will be tweeting about the conference at #blend11.

"We've found that adding a virtual conference pass leads to more participants overall and increased attendance, and provides a valuable resource to our institutional members," said R.T. Brown, Director of Information Technology Services, Sloan-C. "Partnering with Sonic Foundry allows us to deliver high quality, relevant, and needed material to our institutional members, many of whom are not able to attend the on-site event due to budget constraints."

The keynote address by Josh Jarret of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will be streamed to the public. 'Blending Future: Trends Reshaping Higher Education and the Role of Blended Learning' scheduled for March 28, 3:00 p.m., can be accessed at http://sofo.com/83341.

Featured Sonic Foundry presenters at the conference include:

o Dr. Anne-Marie Lerner, University of Wisconsin - Platteville, presenting 'Can Lecture Capture Make You a Better Professor?' March 28, 2:00 p.m.

o Sean Brown, VP Higher Education, Sonic Foundry, presenting 'Everything You Wanted to Know About Lecture Capture but Were Afraid to Ask' March 29, 10:30 a.m.

The full conference program is available at http://sloanconsortium.org/blended/bld2011_program.

The conference will be webcast via Mediasite by Sonic Foundry. Trusted by more than 850 colleges and universities, the patented Mediasite webcasting and content management system quickly and cost-effectively automates the capture, management, delivery and search of rich media presentations that combine audio, video and accompanying graphics for live or on-demand viewing.
