FRANKLIN PARK, IL...One college and three U.S. and Canadian companies that recently won awards for their innovative building designs and projects specifically cited their use of Sloan Valve Company's plumbing products as being part of their respective success stories.
These four companies won awards in two categories:
1. Design Award, Citation of Excellence:
o Behrakis Student Center/Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill, Mass., submitted by Luna Design Group, Lynnfield, Mass.
2. Project Innovations Award:
o Gowlings Building, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, submitted by Wilson, Blanchard Management Inc., Hamilton
o Rockwell Collins Engineering Office Building, Bldg.130, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, submitted by Rockwell
o WFC Inc. corporate office, LaVerne, Calif., submitted by WF Construction Inc., LaVerne
"The four winners that included Sloan on their award applications are acknowledging the importance of installing reliable water- and energy-efficient plumbing systems as part of their buildings' overall design," says Susan Kennedy, director of marketing for Sloan Valve Company. "Given the prevalence of Sloan Valve Company's plumbing systems, it's very likely that many of the other award-winners also use Sloan faucets, Flushometers and other fixtures in their buildings."
All award winners will be showcased in Buildings magazine's October 2007 issue. Buildings' publisher, Stamats Business Media, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, sponsored the awards program.
