Press release date: March 8, 2006
The sales staff at AutoDrill recently searched the internet looking for information on drilling and tapping an uncommon substance for a customer's application. What they learned was that very few manufacturers or suppliers offered a simple chart on drilling or tapping the materials they actually sell. The staff then did a broader search on the net and found that this was true of most material suppliers.
With that in mind, the staff put together a web page that they believe will be useful to many when they have a question about drilling and/or tapping. With decades of experience in the industry, the staff believes the information to be accurate and useful. Additionally, the charts are designed to be conservative enough that anyone with at least a basic understanding of the machinery in use will benefit from them.
They are currently developing their www.drilling-heads.com web site. As part of that site, they have added a section called "Tooling Information." This particular page has links to information such as:
o ANSI Standard Straight Shank Twist Drill Sizes .0135 to 1.000 o Recommended Tool Speeds for High Speed Tooling o Screw Machine Length Drill Dimensions o Jobber Length Drill Dimensions o Taper Length Drill Dimensions o Spotting Drills Dimensions o American Tap Drill Size Charts
AutoDrill is adding new information to this reference page on a regular basis and believes it will be a useful tool to many. Bookmark it today for future reference.
