Storage Industry Veteran to Lead Expansion to Support Rapidly Growing Global Customer Base

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., June 10, 2008 - SiliconSystems, Inc., a world leader in advanced storage technology, today announced that Phil Gioia has joined the company as vice president of operations. Gioia brings to SiliconSystems more than twenty-five years of technology industry experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain management and outsource management. Gioia will lead the expansion of SiliconSystems' operations to support the company's continued rapid global growth.

Prior to joining SiliconSystems, Gioia was vice president of supply chain management at QLogic Corporation in charge of outsourced manufacturing operations, master planning and materials requirement planning. Previously, Gioia was a senior vice president of operations for Tadpole-RDI Computer Corporation, vice president of manufacturing and procurement for Pinnacle Micro and Director of Manufacturing for Toshiba America. Gioia achieved the rank of captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Sciences from California State University, Dominquez Hills and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of La Verne, School of Business. He also studied business management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
