ALISO VIEJO, Calif., September 23, 2008 - SiliconSystems, Inc., a world leader in advanced storage technology, today announced that it has become a member of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) and is a founding member in the Solid-State Storage Initiative (SSSI) launched on September 22, 2008 by the Association. SSSI brings together industry leaders who have the goal of accelerating solid-state storage market growth and success in both the enterprise and consumer markets.

"The industry is closely monitoring the growth of solid-state storage as well as working to advance the future of this technology," said Vincent Franceschini, Chairman of SNIA in its recent SSSI announcement. "The SSSI will draw from the experience and expertise of members such as SiliconSystems to deliver on our commitment of advancing the knowledge and acceptance of solid-state storage."

Representatives from more than 30 organizations have committed to making SSSI the recognized authority for the solid-state storage industry. To accelerate market adoption, members of SSSI will help direct educational efforts for vendors and user communities, develop market outreach programs that demonstrate the advantages of solid-state storage and guide the development of relevant technology standards.

"SiliconSystems believes it can make a significant contribution to SSSI through the knowledge it has gained the last six years serving the Enterprise System OEM market with its advanced SiliconDrive technology and we look forward to collaborating with other storage industry leaders to develop standards-based solutions in an industry we helped pioneer."
