Industry Veteran Yu Yuan Tang to Head Shanghai-based Operations

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., May 6, 2008 - SiliconSystems, Inc., a world leader in advanced storage technology, today announced that it has expanded its Asia-Pacific operations by establishing an office in Shanghai, the company's first in the People's Republic of China. The new office will play a critical role in supporting the burgeoning demand for SiliconSystems' industry-leading SiliconDrive technology in China and Taiwan. Yu Yuan Tang, a 21-year industry veteran, will head the new office.

The opening of the new SiliconSystems Shanghai office is testament to the rapidly expanding worldwide demand for the company's advanced storage technology. The company opened its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) headquarters in 2006 and its Munich, Germany, office in 2007 to manage the company's accelerating growth in the EMEA region. Now, with its Shanghai office, SiliconSystems is poised to better serve the rapidly increasing customer demand in the Asia-Pacific region.

"OEMs throughout the Asia-Pacific region have embraced the use of SiliconSystems' SiliconDrive technology, resulting in tremendous year-on-year revenue growth for the company throughout the entire region," said Michael Hajeck, CEO at SiliconSystems. "Opening an office in China will allow SiliconSystems to closely collaborate with its globally distributed, netcom, embedded system, industrial, military and medical, OEM customers throughout their entire product development and deployment cycle."

Yu Yuan Tang brings to SiliconSystems a wealth of knowledge and expertise gained during a highly successful 21-year career with firms such as Weikeng China, ISSI/ICSI, Promate, Inc. and Acer Sertek. Tang will manage the company's new Shanghai office, which will service and support OEMs, contract manufacturers and the company's distributor partners in China and Taiwan.

About SiliconSystems SiliconSystems is a world leader in advanced storage technology engineered exclusively for the high performance, high reliability, multi-year product lifecycle requirements of the Enterprise System OEM market. The company's patented SiliconDrive and SiliconDrive II technologies exceed the rigorous demands of applications in the netcom, embedded, industrial, military and medical markets.
