Signicast Proudly Announces the Expansion of its Hartford, WI Facilities

Hartford, WI (May 17, 2011) - Signicast proudly announces the expansion of its Hartford, WI facilities with the purchase of 52 acres of land adjacent to its existing location. Signicast will be investing $50 million throughout 2011-2013 to build two facilities for needed capacity. Current plans allow for an additional three production buildings and a support building on the site, which would bring the total investment to more than $150 million.
In 1993, Signicast gambled and invested $17 million of its $20 million in revenues to build a one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art facility in Hartford, reinventing the production of investment castings and launching Signicast into the industry leader it remains today. The investment in technology provided a manufacturing throughput of 4.5 days and quality control that remains unmatched today. The process that was developed results in the industry's lowest total cost, which is the reason for Signicast's tremendous growth. Because of the new process and associated controls, Signicast and its customer's are better able to weather economic volatility.
Continued success within the 17 years following the completion of the first facility necessitated the building of four additional facilities with an investment over $145 million. Along with the original facility in Brown Deer, WI revenues have grown to over $140 million annually, employing over 640 people, making Signicast the largest strictly commercial investment casting company in the world.
Phase one construction of two buildings is to begin in early September 2011. The first of will be an additional secondary operations facility, as the current one in Hartford is nearing capacity. The second building will be the next casting facility expansion and is currently in the design stages. As history suggests, this facility will be the next big leap in technology for commercial investment castings. Plans are to begin equipping the facility mid to late 2012.
