NEW YORK, August 14 -- Shunra's Increasing Leadership in Industry Due to High Demand for Shunra VE Network Emulation Solutions and Turnkey Professional Services Offerings
Shunra, the world's leading provider of network emulation solutions, today announced strong mid-year growth and multiple achievements for the company. In the first half of 2007, Shunra added a significant number of new and repeat customers, announced two product upgrades, secured five top industry awards, welcomed several new executives to its management team, and opened a new office in Philadelphia, PA. The company's outstanding success has been driven by increasingly strong demand for both its hardware and software Shunra Virtual Enterprise (VE) product lines, and is also due to strong interest in its turnkey Professional Services offerings. Mid- and enterprise-sized customers worldwide now use Shunra VE, which is tailored to the needs of each phase of the development lifecycle, from development to QA and performance testing, networking and operations.
"In the first half of the year, Shunra's growth on all fronts has been stellar," said Thomas Charlton, Shunra CEO. Shunra's client portfolio increased significantly in the first half of 2007, with new customers representing major vertical markets including financial, pharmaceutical, communications, and consumer goods. Customers for Shunra's Professional Services also grew this year. Typical engagements conducted by the Professional Services group included evaluating end-users'experiences before rolling out an application into production; assessing the feasibility of a data center move or server consolidation; determining network capacity needs; implementing a VoIP platform; evaluating and implementing a WAN optimization solution; testing disaster recovery/business continuity procedures; and troubleshooting networked applications.
The technology industry recognized Shunra with a number of its top awards in 2007. These included: eWeek Excellence Award; Internet Telephony Product of the Year 2007 and Best of Show Q2; TMC Labs Innovation Award 2007; Interop Top Pick; Frost & Sullivan Growth Strategy Leadership Award; and CODiE Finalist in Best Systems Management category. Other industry acclaim came by way of the analyst community, with Gartner naming Shunra as a market leader in the WAN emulation market.
Shunra released two major new product versions in the first half of 2007. Shunra's award-winning flagship solution, Shunra VE 5.0, for large enterprises, emulates a global network environment in a pre-deployment lab so that network and QA professionals can test the performance of applications and infrastructure under a wide variety of network impairments, topologies and technologies, as if they were running in a real production environment.
Shunra VE 5.0 is a powerful performance engineering solution combining network emulation, deep packet analysis and APM that provides a level of sophistication not available anywhere else in the industry. Shunra VE Desktop 3.0, Shunra's client/server network emulation software, is designed primarily for developers and QA groups. It is the only network emulation solution that facilitates collaboration between the different enterprise IT teams to understand the performance impact that applications and the network have on each other during the development stage of the application lifecycle.
Shunra also expanded its London, England, and Philadelphia, PA, offices; increasing headcount to support this rapid growth.
Shunra is the pioneer and market leader in testing the performance and behavior of services across today's complex networks. The Shunra VE network emulation solutions let users know exactly how their voice, video and business applications will perform in any network environment -- before they are rolled out into production. Shunra is the only company to provide integrated hardware and software network emulation products and services that address the needs of all IT groups throughout the application development lifecycle. Many leading companies worldwide use Shunra's award-winning solutions and services, including 3M, Boeing, Cisco, Dow Chemical, EMC, FedEx, General Motors, JPMorgan Chase, Kelly Services, Merrill Lynch, Motorola, Nestle, Pitney Bowes, and Vodafone.
