COLUMBIA, Md., April 21, 2009 - Shimadzu Scientific Instruments released the first 2009 issue of its LC World Talk newsletter for researchers and scientists who work with HPLC/UFLC and mass spectrometry techniques.

The issue offers information on the analysis of melamine in food stuffs with HPLC and LCMS. An application note reviews the online identification of flavones from Flos chrysanthemi using the LCMS-IT-TOF mass spectrometer, and a third article provides insight into the analysis of synthetic polymers using offline SEC-MALDI-TOF-MS. In addition, readers can learn about Shimadzu's Prominence UFLCXR and Shim-pack XR-ODS columns designed to conserve acetonitrile.

LC World Talk also includes an overview of Shimadzu's new LCMS-2020, which provides the industry's highest levels of speed and sensitivity for the detection of trace impurities in pharmaceuticals, environmental pollutants and other contaminants.
