Sharon Allan Named President of Elster Integrated Solutions - a New Business Unit of Elster in North America


Raleigh, North Carolina, U.S.A., October 23, 2006 - Sharon Allan has been named president of Elster Integrated Solutions (EIS), headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. EIS is a new business unit of Elster in North America that brings a common vision and integrated plan across gas, electricity, and water metering applications. Its focus is delivering AMR/AMI (automated meter reading/advanced metering infrastructure) system solutions to customers in North, Central, and South America. EIS will lead the business transformation of operations technology utilizing information technology and intelligent networks across the existing Elster business units-Elster Electricity, LLC and AMCO Water Metering Systems Inc.

Allan joined Elster in 1997 from IBM and most recently was chief knowledge officer of Elster Electricity. In 2002, she was named one of the '50 Key Women in Energy' for her global leadership in the area of innovation and creativity within the industry. Allan has an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida.
