April 2008

WOBURN, MA - Since becoming a SENNEBOGEN dealer in late 2005, new and exciting opportunities have opened up for C.N. Wood Company, according to General Manager, Jim Maxwell.

Based in Woburn, Massachusetts, C.N. Wood Company is a family-owned and operated company that specializes in construction, demolition, solid waste and recycling. Founded in 1966 by Bob Benard, the company strives to provide the highest quality products and service to the construction, municipal and solid waste markets in eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. C.N. Wood Company is also a Komatsu dealer, a strong product line for key markets. SENNEBOGEN is represented at C.N. Wood Company branches in Woburn MA, Avon MA and Johnston RI.

Jim Maxwell's first exposure to the SENNEBOGEN line grew out of conversations with other Komatsu dealers and a request from a major customer for SENNEBOGEN machines and local service. At the prompting of the Schnitzer Group (formerly Prolerized of New England), Maxwell contacted SENNEBOGEN America President Constantino Lannes, which led to a demonstration of the 835 M material handler at some Schnitzer sites in the area. These demos were converted into a sale to Schnitzer.

"Then we went to work developing specifications for an 850 A for the Schnitzer Metals Recycling Yard and Port in Everett MA," says Maxwell. "The Everett site had never used an electric drive machine before, but it was a good fit. Constantino did a presentation on the cost benefits, noise reduction and component longevity. We committed to delivery within four months and met the date."

"We have a lot of ports in this area that could benefit from this purpose-built material handling system as well," says an enthusiastic Maxwell. Jim Maxwell looks to the future with great optimism.

SENNEBOGEN machines are excellent for transfer stations and C.N. Wood Company is interested in the 305 Multihandler, 821 R and 830 R for under-roof transfer facilities if the cost/value business case can be demonstrated.

"SENNEBOGEN has a knowledgeable sales and support staff, including Anthony Laslavic, the new Regional Sales Manager in the territory. And like us, they are family-owned and family-operated, something we can relate to," says Maxwell.

825 D-Series Specs

On the D-Series machines, the safety features are centered around the cab.

o A revolutionary sliding door combined with the adjacent catwalk, provides an easy and safe way for the operator to step into and out of the cab without the awkwardness of a swinging door hitting the catwalk rail. o Getting to and from the cab is easier with a cab position that provides easy access for the operator via a small set of stairs. o Upgraded climate control systems in the cab create a comfortable atmosphere that keeps operators alert, attentive and undistracted. o Improved access to maintenance areas, such as a centralized undercarriage greasing point, makes maintenance easier and safer. o TIER III emissions-compliant engines.

With the D-Series, SENNEBOGEN offers upgrades in line with the company's philosophy of keeping its machines simple: Simple to operate, simple to maintain and simple to appreciate!
