Dale B. Edwards, P.E., materials engineer and Senior Consultant at Engineering Systems Inc. (ESI) was recently appointed to the Medical Plastics Division Board of Directors for the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE). The Board hopes to promote the Division and to help disseminate information that would be helpful to the medical plastics industry.
Mr. Edwards is a long-time member of SPE and currently teaches the Plastic Fracture Analysis Workshop co-sponsored by SPE. In September, he also participated in SPE's Failure Analysis Workshop & Prevention Seminars. He instructed a one-and-a-half-day workshop on the common causes of brittle fractures in plastic components that failed in-service.
"We are quite pleased with Dale's appointment" states Nelson Koopman, ESI's President & COO, adding that "this is another example of our commitment and leadership in one of the many industries we are keenly involved."
Mr. Edwards is a licensed Professional Engineer and has years of experience in testing and analysis of plastic and composite materials, consulting and laboratory management. His expertise includes failure analysis and testing of plastics, creep and stress rupture testing for design, mechanical testing, and environmental effects.
