Press release date: June 3, 2008

Charlotte, NC - IEMCA will showcase its newest bar feeder and gantry loader technology at IMTS 2008. IEMCA is a leading manufacturer of automatic bar feeders for single-spindle and multi-spindle lathes, and will display a number of operating products inside IEMCA booth A-8274.

The Elite 112 bar feeder will operate on a Star CNC lathe. The Elite can feed bars of 0.8 mm to 12.7 mm even on lathes with very high rotation and headstock acceleration speeds without limiting performance. It boasts a minimum inertia (-40%) mechanical synchronization system to ensure precision following of headstocks, even those actuated by linear motors, regardless of bar diameter. The Elite 112 has been engineered with closed, calibrated, round section channels, enabling high performance, even with high-rotation spindle speeds. No special adjustments are necessary when switching jobs and quick-fit channels help minimize retooling time.

An IEMCA Smart 320 bar feeder will be operating with a Tsugami CNC lathe inside the booth. The Smart is designed for sliding headstock lathes. The Smart 320 accommodates small-diameter bars (3-23mm), and offers automatic remnant recovery and bar-headstock synchronization.

IEMCA's compact Prodigy bar feeder will be operating with a Doosan. The Prodigy's dimensions make it ideal for use when floor space is limited. It offers the flexibility to support a wide range of bar diameter and the versatility to run small- or extremely high-volume production.

The Automata gantry loader system will also be on display at IMTS, operating with an Okuma Captain L370. The Automata is designed for increased productivity and efficiency of lathes, grinding machines, rolling machines and machining centers. Its high-capacity magazine allows for unsupervised loading and unloading, allowing a larger number of machines to be run with one operator.

Other IEMCA bar feeders to be on static display inside the booth include the Master 880 and VIP80. The Master offers a compact design and flexibility to run a wide range of bar diameter with change of collet and split bushing only. The VIP80 is a short bar feeder, ideal for single-spindle, fixed and sliding headstock lathes.

IEMCA held the original patents on several bar feeder technologies that are now duplicated by other manufacturers. Hydrodynamic guide channel system enables simple, quick changeover and reduced noise and vibrations. The unique guide channel design allows the guide diameter to be changed by only changing the front guide sections. The bar pusher is contained in a tube fixed to the upper wall of the rear guide.

IEMCA is excited to offer the industry's best, five-year warranty, available for a limited time. This reinforces the continuous technological advancements, service and support that customers receive when they buy from IEMCA. The five-year warranty covers all parts and labor for the first year of ownership, and the cost of parts for the next four years. The warranty does not affect machine pricing, and is automatically included with all single-spindle IEMCA bar feeders.

IEMCA, a trusted name in bar feeder and gantry loader technology, built its reputation on a track record of renowned quality, with exceptional sales and service worldwide since 1961. Our bar feeders are supported by factory trained service engineers, strategically located throughout North America.
