The perfect lab accessory for holding and storing electronic components.

San Ramon, CA - Sept 22, 2010 - SchmartBoard, a company that makes prototyping electronic circuits easier, has announced a new line of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) "Pads" and "Paks" for holding and storing electronic components. As parts get smaller, a major problem for engineers and technicians is losing them during the design phase of a circuit. Electronic components and small assemblies are also susceptible to ESD and physical damage as they are handled and stored.

The 2" x 2" Tacki Pak(TM) is a box with the tacky surface on the inside. At a suggested retail of $7.50, it is the perfect way to store small electronic components such as SMT discrete parts or IC's. The 4" x 4" and 9" x 9" Tacki Pads(TM) are trays with a tacky surface that are perfect for keeping multiple types of electronic components safely and securely on the lab bench. These Tacki Pads have a suggested retail price of $30 and $50, respectively. One can easily take parts from the Tacki Pak and Tacki Pad's using tweezers and need not worry about accidentally jarring the components out of the enclosures.

The new Tacki Pad & Tacki Pak provide an ESD safe, non-adhesive tacky surface that will limit component movement. No longer will parts slide into each other causing damage. The products have excellent reusability; just clean with IPA wipes to remove FOD and rejuvenate surface tack level. The ESD safe properties are 105 to 109 ohms. The tack level is 6.0 to 9.0 foot pounds of force. This new family of SchmartBoard products is being launched as three products that may expand in the future to include other sized or tack level products.

The products are available as SchmartBoard's website and at Mouser Electronics. Details and a short video can be found at: http://www.schmartboard.com/index.asp?page=tacki
