Now DFN Components Can Be Used on a Breadboard

San Ramon, CA - SchmartBoard, a company that makes prototyping electronic circuits easier, has expanded its product offering with a new family of products that support the use of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components with breadboards. Schmartboard has released two new SMT to DIP adapters that use the patented "ez" technology, which makes soldering the surface mount component simple. As with all "ez" boards, SchmartBoardis the only company with a patented solution for easily soldering of surface mount parts.

"We have hit a real need with this line," says Neal Greenberg, SchmartBoard's VP of Sales and Marketing. "This has been our fastest growing family of products in the few months that we have been marketing it. The reason is that many users are in a quandary because they still need to use a breadboard and in many cases and only surface mount components are available. No other company has a solution to easily solder components such as QFN and DFN, so there has not been a cost-effective, usable solution until now."

The two new boards are the first released that support DFN devices. Part number 204-0021-01 gives you the ability to use two 8 lead, .5mm pitched DFN components. Part 204-0022-01 supports two 10 lead, .5mm pitched DFN components.

The suggested retail on each of these new products is $6.00

Schmartboard plans to release new products for this family over the next year until all of the most popular QFN and DFN chip package sizes are supported for breadboard use.
